About

Dorrit Olander von Renteln

is a heavy Halmstad profile. Since she moved to Halmstad in 1990, she has contributed a lot to the city’s culture and entertainment. In the years 1998 – 2001, she founded and arranged a re-creation of the formidable party that was held at Halmstad Castle in 1619 in connection with the final payment of Älvsborg’s ransom. The festivities went by the name “Christian IV’s feast”.

Dorrit also started the Christmas market on Lilla Torg with a southern German model. She has been a member of the City Council with a special interest in culture, school and education.

Bengt (Ben) Olander

At the turn of the millennium, Bengt, under the artist name “Ben Olander”, joined Halmstad’s musicians and managed to present 7 hits at Svensktoppen.

With his, since adolescence, deep interest in history, he tells empathetically about historical events, often related to Halland. They are performed with crackling slide shows and sometimes with song and music.

The performances can be an entertaining feature at conferences and other gatherings. Each appearance is to be regarded as “formative entertainment”, thus deductible for most companies. Ben and Dorrit work closely with Hallands Bildningsförbund.
